BAJAUR: The residents of Dabar area of Mamund tehsil here on Friday demanded the district administration to extend them help for repair of a link road damaged by recent flash floods in their area.
Talking to journalists, the people of Dabar including elders, youth leaders and social activists said that about the three-km Mataka-Sewai road, connecting several villages of the region with rest of the district was badly damaged by the recent rains after the flash floods washed away most of its sections.
However, they complained that despite the passage of four days and their repeated written requests to district authorities, the officials of departments concerned didn`t bother to visit and check the damaged sections of road.
They said that residents of their areas had decided in a meeting to start the repair work on the affected sections of the road on selfhelp basis, but heavy machinery was needed to complete the task.
Meanwhile Tribal Electric Supply Company (Tesco) and Highways Department`s authorities started to repair the damaged electricity transmission lines and link roads following recent heavy rain in different areas of Bajaur tribal district.
Local residents said that they were hoping completion of repair work on affected transmission lines and link roads, especially in Mamund tehsil, to be completed in due course of time.
They asked the authorities concerned to speed up repair work on damaged infrastructure to end their miseries.-Correspondent
