LONDON: Important features of the 1950-51 sterling release Agreement between the United Kingdom and Pakistan are expected to be the recognition of releases to Pakistan over and above last year`s ceiling and increased release during the current period.

Pakistan`s net dollar surplus, which benefited the dollar pool of the sterling area, was maintained in spite of the country`s pressing needs for capital equipment, and it strengthened the argument for a more liberal dollar expenditure during the coming year.
