SAHIWAL: The Pakpattan AntiCorrpution Establishment (ACE) arrested three officials of the Forest Department for financial embezzlement of Rs173,000 on the compliant of a citizen.

The arrested include circle officer Kashif Hashmi, range forest officer Younas and guard Waheed Ahmed.Citizen Hasan Javed, a resident of village 34-SP Pakpattan, compliant that the officials took Rs250,000 from him as bribe for buying indigenous plants for plantation.

Pakpattan ACE investigated the suspects and arrested them under sections 161, 409, 420, 471 of the PPC and 5/2-47 of the PCA.

ACE have been investigating the matter since November 16, 2023.
