LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Monday granted physical remand of PTl Lahore President Imtiaz Sheikh in Zilleh Shah murder case while sending him on judicial remand in another case of attacking police teams outside Zaman Park.

The police produced the PTl MPA before the court on expiry of his physical remand in the Zaman Park case.

The investigating officer told the court that the MPA had also been arrested in the murder of PTl worker Zilleh Shah.

He asked the court to grant a fresh remand of Sheikh in the murder case and extend his custody in the previous case. Both cases are registered at the Racecourse police station.

A legal panel comprising Sardar Latif Khosa, Azhar Siddique and Yousaf Wayn appeared on behalf of the PTl leader. They asked the court to discharge the MPA in both cases.

However, Judge Khalid Arshad rejected the police request for an extension of the physical remand in the case of violence against police officers at Zaman Park and sent him to jail on judicial remand.

The judge allowed two-day physical remand of Imtiaz Sheikh to the police in the worker`s murder case.

According to police, Zilleh Shah, also known as Ali Bilal, was killed, and many people were injured due to the violence by over 300 PTl workers on Canal Road.
