PPP to hold rally in city on 16th

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Sunday decided to organise a rally on Oct 16 to observe the martyrdom anniversary of 200 `jiyalas` who were killed in a terrorist attack near Karsaz on the motorcade of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on Oct 18, 2007.
In this connection a high-level party meeting was held on Sunday at Bilawal House. The meeting, which was presided over PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, discussed the rally`s arrangements.
The meeting was attended by Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Khurshid Ahmed Shah, MNA Faryal Tapur, former chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Qamaruz Zaman Kaira, Jameel Soomro, Saeed Ghani, Waqar Mehdi, Murtaza Wahab and Najmi Alam.
The participants briefed the PPP chairman about the arrangements being made for the rally, which will start from Bilawal House and culminate at Karsaz.
They said that party workers and the masses are being mobilised and the Oct 16 rally of thePPP was going to be the largest rally in the history of Karachi.
Mr Bhutto-Zardari also said that the party`s new organisations will prepare for the next general elections to be held in 2018 with enthusiasm and dedication as the PPP has to win the elections to form the government and implement its pro-people and pro-democracy policies.
The PPP chief said this in a meetingwiththePPPBalochistan Coordination Committee on Sunday where recommendations for the party organisations at provincial, divisional, and district level in Balochistan were put forward.
The PPP committee members included Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hasni, Senator Sabir Baloch, Haji Ali Madad Jatak, Sardar Sirbuland Khan and Aijaz Baloch. President PPP Ladies wing MNA Faryal Talpur, and political secretary to chairman PPP Jameel Soomro were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the members of the committee Bilawal BhuttoZardari appreciated the hard work of the committee for reachingout totheworkersand`jiyalas` in every district of Balochistan and sought their opinion on the new organisation.
