PESHAWAR, Nov 2: The elders of Shahi Bala area have accused revenue department officials of using delaying tactics in resolution of a land dispute.
Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, the elders of Akhunkhel and Miankhel led by Syed Sarwar Shah said the tribe had a huge piece of land measuring about 32,000 kanals, but some people of Tanazai tribe had filed a case claiming its ownership.
Mr Shah said the opponent party had also killed three people of the Miankhel tribe and tried to occupy the land.
He appealed to the chief justice of Peshawar High Court to take suo motu notice of the issue.
`We have also submitted applications to the deputy commissioner Peshawar and he has assured solution to the problem.
However, the revenue officials are using delaying tactics in this regard,` said the elder. He alleged that revenue officials were hand in glove with the opponent group.
Similarly, he said the rival party had also blocked the irrigation water of Nasir Bagh Canal, adding the irrigation department was also least bothered to take action against the people.
Mr Sarwar Shah warned that in case the government didn`t resolve the dispute it could lead to bloodshed in the area and the entire responsibility would rest with the concerned officials of revenue department. Bureau Report
