2015-11-03
RAWALPINDI: A fourday anti-polio drive starting from November 10 will cover 750,947 children across the district.

To overcome the shortage of staff, the health department has sought help from education and agriculture departments, hospitals and from volunteers to run the drive. Most of the health departments` staff is deployed in the anti-dengue campaign.

District Health Officer Dr Raffique Ahmed told Dawn that the district health department had made all arrangements and that the drive would continue for four days. The teams will then make a second visit over three more days to check if they missed any children the first time.

Dr Ahmed said District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar Dall will supervise the drive.

Earlier, Executive District Officer Health Dr Arshad Ali Sabir briefed the DCO about the drive and told him that the health department would form 1,733 mobile teams that will make doorto-door visits in the district.
