KARACHI: A young shopkeeper was shot dead in North Nazimabad on Wednesday, the Taimuria police said.
They added that Mohammed Abdullah, 35, was sitting at his shop in Block-N behind the Sareena mobile market when armed motorcyclists opened fire on him and fled.
He sustained critical bullet wounds on his head and died before any medical aid could be provided to him. The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The Taimuria police officer told Dawn that the investigation was under way to ascertain the exact motive for the murder. The officer said the suspects did not take anything from the shop.
Arms cache seized The West Zone police claimed to have recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition in a raid in Lyari on Wednesday.
Officials said the police conducted a targeted raid near Gutter Baghicha and recovered arms and ammunition.
