Steel city` planned in Gadani

QUETTA, Dec 2: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani has announced that a`steel city` will be set up at the Gadani beach to provide job opportunities to the people of Lasbela district.

He was speaking at a ceremony held in Hub on Friday to distribute appointment letters among the newly-appointed employees in the Lasbela Industrial Estate Development Authority.

The chief minister said a Marble City had been set up in Gadani and the government also planned to set up a seafood city and an industri-al zone to promote exports and bring improvement in the lives of local people. He said his government was ready to give more facilities and incentives to investors interested in launching business projects in the mineral and other sectors in Balochistan.

The chief minister said the provincial government had taken steps for the protection of investors in Hub and other industrial estates in Balochistan.

`Various local and foreign groups are showing interest in investing in Balochistan andnegotiations are under way in this regard,` he said and added that proper planning was needed to benefit from the opportunity.

He said his government was taking various steps for an integrated development and their results would be seen soon.

Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani said industrialists in Hub would be given full protection but added that they were not implementing the agreement under which they were bound to give 70 per cent of the jobs to local people.
