PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani on Friday asked the traders`representatives to form committees to help control the incidents of kidnapping, extortion and other kinds of terrorism. He also asked them to give suggestions regarding parking of vehicles in busy bazaars and security check to maintain peace in markets.
He was talking to a delegation of Peshawar traders at his office here. He said it was duty of patriotic citizens to play role for maintenance of peace and tranquility in their respective areas.
The traders demanded protection against terroristacts and extortionists.
Meanwhile, the provincial government will police commandos and ensure strict checking of Afghan nationals and other people from the tribal regions in ordertoensurefoolproofsecurity arrangements during MIlad-un-Nabi processions.
In this regard, the home and tribal affairs department, in a statement on Friday directed all the commissioners, deputy commissioners, regional police officers and district police officers in the province to arrange special contingents of commandos in sensitive areas to ensure security of people participating in the Milad processions.
The statement said there would be ban on pillion-riding and plying of motorcycles without number plate.
