MANSEHRA: The district administration has asked ulema and religious scholars to honour the agreement reached in 2012 for holding peaceful Milad-un-Nabi precessions in the district.
`We want you (ulema) to observe sanctity of the birth day of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and follow the agreement reached between the district administration and ulema in 2012,` said deputy commissioner Zulfiqar Shah, while speaking at a meeting of ulema on Friday.
The ulema agreed to extend cooperation to the district administration for maintaining peace and tranquility on Milad-unNabi.
Beside others Mansehra assistant commissioner Dr Qasim Ali Khan, chairman of district peace committee Maulana Rafique-ur-Rehman Qamar,MaulanaQudratullah Qadri, Maulana Habibul Malik, Maulana Wasiur Rehman were also in attendance.
The deputy commissioner said there would be complete ban on carrying and display of arms in the district on the auspicious occasion and asked ulema to preach harmony and peaceful co-existence in their sermons.
