Mustafain Kazmi retires

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Member Environment Syed Mustafain Kazmi has retired from service after attaining the age of superannuation on Saturday.

Following his retirement, the CDA Board now has just three members the posts of member finance and member estate have already been vacant for several months.

The two offices are being run on an ad hoc basic.

Mr Kazmi was CDA`s senior most regular employee in BS-20. He joined the authority in 1984, and was promoted to the position of Member Administration in February 2010, Member (Planning and Design) in March 2013 and Member Environment in April 2014.Prior to becoming a member of the CDA Board, Mr Kazmi served as director of Municipal Administration, Enforcement, Sanitation, Public Relations and Sports and Culture.

He also served as municipal administration deputy director general and civic management director general.

During his time at CDA, Mr Kazmi played a pivotal role in the development of infrastructure and execution of projects of public importance in Islamabad. He was assigned mainly to special tasks concerning the city`s civic functions, and other public interest projects.

In particular, he led the development and conservation of Saidur Village, the `Melody Food Park`, and over 70 public parks and sports facilities, including playgrounds, multipurpose sports centres and courts, and weelcly markets.

He also played a pivotal role in the installation of the 215 feet high Pakistan flag on Islamabad Expressway, which is the highest flag in South Asia and launched tree plantation campaigns that have led to the planting of millions of trees.
