Initial investigation revealed unidentified assailants had beheaded Imran Ghumman, 22, a resident of a nearby village, late on Saturday and thrown his head on a roadside.

A case was registered under Section 302/34 on the complaint of the Imran`s father Rasheed. The complainant pleaded his son was last seen at the outhouse of Ageel, son of Anwar Ghumman, after which they found his severed head. Rasheed further said there was a bullet hole in Imran`s head.

Nominated in the first information report (FIR), Ageel was arrested over suspicion, while some other unidentified people were also mentioned in the FIR.

Faqirwali police were searching for the body. Motive behind the killing and identity of the real culprits were yet to be ascertained.
