KHAIRPUR: Two teenaged boys who were related to each other drowned while taking bath in Mirwah canal near Lohi Pul on Monday.

According to eyewitnesses, when Ahmed Bhutto, 16, slipped into deep waters and started drowning his relative Jawad Bhutto, 17, tried to rescue him but he too died in the attempt.

The boys’ relatives called divers to search the boys and they managed to take them out after some time in unconscious condition. They were rushed to Khairpur Civil Hospital where doctors tried to save them but they could not survive.

The bereaved relatives told journalists that Jawad, a college student and Ahmed, a student in a government high school, were breathing when they were taken to the hospital but delay in their treatment caused their deaths.

They said that no doctor was present at the hospital and after wastage of precious time they were moved into ICU.
