ISLAMABAD: A man was gunned down in the capital, police said on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Zain Javaid, 19, a resident of Kamra, police said, adding he suffered a bullet injury that claimed his life.
The incident took place at Jhangi Syedan where Javaid and his friend Zulgarnain went out for meal at Chungi No 26. Later, when they headed towards Rawalpindi a man intercepted them and af ter an argument shot at and injured Javaid.
Javaid suffered a bullet injury and fell on the road, while the gunman escaped, the police said, adding later he was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
In response to a complaintlodgedbyZulgarnain, the police have registered a murder case against the gunman, they added.
Noon police SHO SI Abdul Razzaq told Dawn that the motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained.
According to the victim`s friend they were interceptedbythegunman,who shot him after a brief argument, he added.
Javaid, who owned a motorcycle showroom at Kamra,hadafriendshipwith Mohammad Zulgarnain, 17, the SHO said, adding that their families were against the friendship.
As per the victim`s friend, they came to the capital to set up another showroom, SI Razzaq said.-Staff Reporter
