ISLAMABAD: Over 100 students from different schools, colleges and universities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad participated in a wildlife photography, poster presentation and painting competition organised by the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) on Tuesday.
IWMB Assistant Director Faheem Changwani said the competition was organised in connection with the World Wildlife Day with the theme of `Sustaining all life on Earth`.
Most of the students hailed from girls and boys schools of Shahdara, Gokina Khurd, Saidpur and Nurpur areas of Margalla Hills National Park along with students of Mishal and Bahbud schools.
He said this time research works of environmental scientists from Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET)Taxila were also showcased.
The students, researchers and wildlife lovers exhibited their artworks which were appreciated by the participants and jury of the competition.
IWMB Assistant Director Sakhwat Ali said professional photography the winners were Kashif Saleem, Mohammad Shahzaib, Umar Waqas whereas in amateur category Abdul Hadi Raja and Hafiz Azhar won the competition.In the painting category, Jazib Ali (Mashal School), Iqra (Behbud School) and Areeba Kazmi (FG Girls School Shahdhra) were the winners.In research posters, Mohammad Farooq (Arid Agriculture University), Abdul Hadi (Arid Agriculture University) and Zulkifil Abbasi(UET Taxila)wonthecontest.-APP
