Corruption has weakened country`s foundations: CM

LA HORE: The coronavirus of corruption has weakened the very foundations of the country, said Chief Minister Usman Buzdar here on Tuesday.

In a statement, he made it clear that the elimination of corruption was the priority of the government because people remained deprived of even basic necessities of life due to the corrupdon of past governments.

`Even children are fully aware of the corruption of the corrupt rulers and the only way to move forward is to eliminate corruption at every level,` he added. The chief minister emphasized that acrossthe-board accountability would help the country to achieve its real destination.

The incumbent government was the most transparent in the his-tory of the country, he reiterated.

It is worthwhile that Prime Minister Imran Khan destroyed the idols of corruption and the PTI government was fully committed to eradicating corruption under his leadership, concluded the chief minister.

CLEANLINESS: The chief minister directed best cleanliness arrangements in Lahore, adding that cleanliness system should be improved by working round the clock. He said that solid waste should be timely removed and ef fective monitoring be ensured as well.

He directed the of ficials early disposal of administrative, financial and legal matters, adding that cleanliness system should be further improved by dividing Lahore into different zones.

The new cleanliness system should be better than the past, he added. The provincial metropolis should appear neat and clean andthe citizens may not face any difficulty in this regard.

The chief minister chaired a highlevel meeting at his office on Tuesday in which cleanliness arrangements for Lahore city, the future model and affairs pertaining to Lahore Waste Management Company were reviewed. Secretary Local Govt. gave a briefing about the new model of cleanliness.

Adviser to the PHA Asif Mahmood, LWMC Chairman Riaz Hameed Chaudhry and secretary of the local government and others attended the meeting.

CONDOLENCES: The chief minister expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in a traffic accident near Faizpur Interchange.

The chief minister sought a detailed report about the incident and directed the administration to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured.
