MIANWALI: Former director general (DG) of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (Pemra) Haji Ahmed Malik passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Tuesday.

He served in the Ministry of Information as a senior joint secretary and acting secretary information. He worked at various posts in the ministry and retired from service a couple of years ago before settled in his hometown, Mianwali.

Malik studied at theGovt College, Lahore, and stood first in MSc Chemistry from the Punjab University. After doing his MSc, he was appointed as a lecturer at the Govt College, Lahore.

He joined the civil service af ter passing the CSS exams.

Haji Ahmed Malik left behind a widow, a son and a daughter.

His funeral prayers will be held on Wednesday (today) at 10am at the graveyard of Haji Makhdoom, Mianwali.-Correspondent
