Kidnap case against MPA, others Police told to record victim`s statement through Skype

MULTAN: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday adjourned for March 11 the hearing of a case lodged against Pakistan Tehreek-iInsaf MPA Zaheeruddin Alizai and 11 other suspects for allegedly kidnapping the son of former deputy commissioner Muzaffarabad Badar Munir and releasing him after receiving ransom.

The court directed the police to record the statement of victim Mahar Munir through Skype.

In his case Munir alleged that Alizai, Muhammad Mubashir Chaudhry,Mudassir, Mian Farzand Ali Gohar, Nasir Ali Nagra, Muhammad Yasin Nazir, Zahid Pathan, Yasmin Ahmed, Ehtasham Ali, police inspector Rana Jahanzeb alias Tipu, Asghar Ali, Abid Rasool and Khalil Ahmed kidnapped his son and released him after getting a ransom of Rs12 million.

He stated after being released his son settled in Australia due to the fear of the suspects and his statement could be recorded through Skype with the help of home department and embassies.

While adjourning the hearing of the case for March 11, the anti-terrorism court No. 2 judge directed the police to record the statement ofMahar Munir through Skype.

DEPORTEES: As many as 40 people deported by the Saudi authorities arrived at Multan International Airport on Tuesday. After the verification process, deportees were allowed to leave the airport.

In February last, the consulate of Pakistan in Jaddah denied social media reports regarding the arrest of Pakistani citizens at large scale and their forced repatriation stating that it was clarified by the Saudi auth orities that they carried out such drives with varying intensities against illegal expatriates of all nationalities for their arrest and onward repatriation.
