PO carrying Rslm head money held in Kohat operation

KOHAT: District police officer Mansoor Aman has said a proclaimed of fender carrying Re1 million head money has been arrested after an encounter in the mountains.He had been absconding for more than three decades.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said PO Nazar Hussain was overpowered after a five-hour-long operation. He said the outlaws was wanted by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab police in 22 cases of murders, attempted murders, extortion, robberies and other crimes.

Accompanied by DSP and SHO Lachi, Mr Aman said the police also seized two hand grenades, a Kalashnikov and four magazines from him. He said during last six months the police had arrested 180 POs and recovered huge quantity of weapons from them in special operations. They were involved in kidnappings and other heinous crimes.

The DPO said outlaw Hazrat Yousuf of Boraka, Kohat, was held from Gujranwala by Mohammad Riaz Police, and the Jarma police arrested Misri Khan from the Bacha Khan Airport while trying to flee the country after committing a murder.

The district police chief said the cantonment police arrested Farman Khan of Waziristan district in the murder case of DrOrya Maqbool Jan and Gumbat police arrested Khandan Khan, who had escaped from Bannu jail when Taliban stormed it in 2012. He added the Jungle Khel police arrested Mian Akbar from Bannu, while Jarma police arrested Jannat Gul and Haya Khan.

He said that Ustarzai police captured PO Shah Syed of Orakzai district and Bilitang police arrested Inayat Khan. The Lachi police arrested murder suspects Gul Mohammad and Saifullah Khan.

FEE EXEMPTION: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat, has exempted the children of martyrs, deaf and dump and prisoners of all kinds of fees.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the board officials said penalty would be imposed on teachers committing mistakes while checking papers, and charges would be increased for those doing quality marking, according to a statement.

They said if a student applied for remarking of the paper and his claim was found correct his fee would be refunded and the checker would be punished. He said results of 10th grade and FSc part-II would be announced separately because the students had to get admissionsinnextclasses.-Correspondent
