BAJAUR: Jamaat-iIslami, Bajaur chapter on Friday announced its candidates for the upcoming national and provincial assemblies`elections.
J1 district chief Sahibzada Haroon Rasheed made the announcement at a news conference held at the residence of party`s former MPA Sirajuddin Khan in Naway Kallay.
Flanked by leaders of Eittehad-i-MalkananBajaur, an alliance of tribal elders, Mr Rasheed said Haji Sardar Khan would be the party`s nominee for the lone NA-8 seat, while Maulana Waheed Gul, Sirajuddin KhanandMalikMohammad Ayaz Khan would be the aspirants for PK-18, PK-19 and PK-20, respectively.
He said the nominations weremadeaftertheapproval of the party`s provincial parliamentaryboard.
Mr Rasheed said though J1was not taking part in the by-elections on NA-8, the party was fully supporting independent candidate Abid Khan, the son of J1former MPA Sirajuddin Khan.
