Four terrorists jailed for 14 years

SUKKUR: The Anti-Terrorism Court-I of Sukkur has sentenced four terrorists to 14-year imprisonment in a case registered against them at the city’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station on April 17, 2024.

According to the CTD, Manthar Ali, son of Qadir Bakhsh, Akram Shah, son of Gul Shah, Abdul Qadeer, son of Abdul Hakeem and Karim Bakhsh, son of Bagan Malik were arrested after arms, ammunition and explosive material were seized from them.

A CTD release said that three cases – crime No. 3/2024 under sections 4/5 of the Explosive Act, Section 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997; crime No. 4/2024 & crime No. 5/2024 under Section 23(1)(a) of the Sindh Arms Act, 2013 were registered against them.

It said that the seized case property comprised two 30-bore pistols along with magazines, 10 bullets, 20 non-electrical detonators, 400 grams of nut bolts, ball-bearings and nails, 300 grams of explosive material and 10 safety fuse wires.

It said that the trial against them was held in the ATC-I of Sukkur which, on February 28, 2025, awarded them 14-year rigorous imprisonment.
