MIRPURKHAS: The dyke of Kingoro Shakh, a lined irrigation channel near Digri town, developed a wide breach causing flooding across the nearby villages and agricultural lands on Monday.

The breach occurred as soon as water was released into the channel after a long break of three months. The channel was kept closed for lining work and desilting.

A number of slabs were uprooted near Noral Shah, Deh 147, when the dyke could not withstand pressure of flows. The breach was plugged after six hours of hectic efforts.
