ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad on Monday further extended the physical remand of Ume Hassan and other accused for two more days in a case related to alleged interference in government affairs and intimidating government officials.

When ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Mohammad Zulgarnain resumed hearing in the case, the prosecution sought extension in the physical remand of all the suspects.

During the hearing, the accused,including Ume Hassan, were present in court.

The police requested an extension, arguing that further investigation was necessary as some suspects were yet to be recovered and more suspects needed to be arrested.

The defence counsel strongly opposed the request, contending that the accused had already undergone 11 days of remand.

They argued that the extension was unwarranted. However, after hearing arguments from both sides, the court approved a two-day extension inp h y s i c a 1 remand.
