RAWALPINDI: The district administration on Monday gave a deadline of 10 days to the Auqaf depanment and custodians to improve security of shrines otherwise the premises would be sealed.

The warning was issued to the representatives of shrines and the Auqaf department at a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Talat Mehmood Gondal in the chair.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Nazia Parveen Sudhan, assistant commissioners Taxila, Gujar Khan, Murree, Kotli Sattian and Kahuta attended the meeting.

There are more than 71 shrines in the district and the Auqaf depanment is managing 24 of them while the others are being run by private individuals.-A Reponer
