KARACHI: Pakistan completed a clean sweep of the three-match Twenty20 series against the West Indies at the National Stadium on Tuesday night while marking the successfulreturn ofinternational cricket to Karachi after nine years.

Hussain Talat, one of the success stories of this brief series, wrapped up the hosts` crushing eight-wicket win by pulling Keemo Paul as Pakistan romped home with 19 balls to spare. The left-hander remained unbeaten on 31. Asif Ali, playing just his third T20 International, grabbed the chance to bat up the order with both hands by thrashing 25off 16 deliveries.

The 3-0 victory also ensured that Pakistan retain their top position in the ICC rankings with a clear-cut difference of four points over second-placed Australia. Sarfraz Ahmed`s men chalked up their 17th win in 20 matches while becoming the first team to record sweep of a three-match series for the third time.

Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam made light work of the 154-run chase with an enthralling stroke play that yielded 61 runs in 32 balls.

The left-handed Fakhar, adjudged man of the match, was caught behind for a breezy 40 off 17 balls (six fours and two sixes).

Babar notched up his second half-century in as many daysdays the 23-year-old having made an unbeaten 97 on Monday before holing out in the deep for a 40-ball 51, which included six boundaries.

He was the obvious choice for the man of the series award.

Earlier, the tourists finally showed their real Caribbean flamboyance after abject batting efforts in the first matches. Andre Fletcher and Denesh Ramdin pushed them beyond the respectable benchmark of 150.

With a noisy near-capacity crowd cheering them on, the visitors reached 153-6 the West Indies` second highest score against Pakistan after 166-6 on the April Fool`s Day in 2014 during the ICC World Twenty20. Jason Mohammedcalled correctly for the second time in the series.

The start, as usual, was stuttering when Chadwick Walton, who was the top scorer with 40 in Monday`s game, perished without opening his account.

Overdue for a significant innings after disappointing scores of 18 and 12 in the previous matches, the experienced Marlon Samuels looked in fine fettle as he and Fletcher shared West Indies` solitary 50-plus partnership of the entire series, putting on 72 in 56 deliveries for the second wicket.

Samuels failed to read a welldisguised googly from Shadab Khan and found his stumps shattered afterhavingstruckabrace of sixes and as many fours in a 25-ball knock of 31.Fletcher was set for a bigger innings than 52 the only halfcentury for the tourists when a magnificent piece of fielding from Mohammad Nawaz in the15th over sent the 30-year-old right-hander on his way to the pavilion. The opener`s 43-ball knock was laced with four fours and three sixes.Ramdin, who blasted an 18-ball 42 not out, struck the last three balls he faced for sixes, including the last two balls of the innings.
