Gang selling fake gold held

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Gojra Sadar police arrested five people on Saturday who allegedly swindled dozens of people, mostly in Sindh, selling counterfeit gold coins in the last two years.

The gang would call their customers to Pirmahal or Gojra, showed them real gold coins and after getting money supply them counterfeit coins.

Police said they arrested the gang in Chak 95-JB and identified them as Ijaz, Sabahat, Mukhtar, Shahid and Imran, all of Daska. Their Gojra-based accomplice Laskar Lashkriescaped.

Police seized fake gold coins from them.

ASWJ: Banned Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) chief Muhammad AhmadLudhianvi has questioned the foreign tour of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with other important personalities at a time when the country is passing through complex circumstances.

He told reporters at the district press club on Saturday that the elements opposing talks between the government and the Taliban were involved in attack on Hamid Mir.

Mr Ludhianvi said he was 100 per cent sure about the rejection of an appeal by MNA Sheikh Akram in the Supreme Court against the decision of an election tribunal which announced him winner from the constituency after disqualifying the treasury MNA.-Correspondent
