Inaugurates power feeder in Naurang By Our Correspondent2014-05-04
LAKKI MARWAT: Former chief minister and Jamiat Ulemai-Islam-Fazl MNA Akram Khan Durrani has said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led provincial government has failed to implement the agenda of change as no practical step has been taken so far for the development of backward areas of the province.
He was speaking at a gathering of traders in Naurang town here on Saturday. He also inaugurated a newly installed power feeder in 132KV Naurang grid station, which would provide electricity to Ghoriwala and other localities of Bannu district.
The JUI-F leader said that change could not be brought with hollow slogans and false prom-ises. He said that the PTI and its allied parties failed to launch any development project in the province during the last one year. He claimed that the champions of change had lost the confidence of masses within a short span of one year.
The former chief minister condemned the provincial government for launching anti-encroachment campaigns in Naurang town and other parts of the district and snatching livelihood opportunities from the people. He said that the government should focus on creating favourable conditions for promotion of trade activities in backward areas.
He promised at the gathering that the JUI-F lawmakers would protect the genuine rights of the business community besides resolving the problems being faced by people in their constituencies on priority. Mr Durrani asked the people to pay their electricity and other utility bills so that theorganisations concerned could be able to provide them with basic facilities in a better way.
He said that the new feeder would ensure smooth supply of electricity in several localities of Bannu and Naurang. He claimed that the Wapda and Pesco authorities had assured him to reduce loadshedding duration in Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts.
MPA Anwar Hayat and former MPA Naseer Mohammad were also present on the occasion.
POLICE EXERCISE: Shooting exercises of police force began at Khan Safi shooting range on the outskirts of Lakki city on Saturday.
As many as 70 policemen took part in the drills on the first day and exhibited their shooting skills. District police officer Ismail Kharak along with other police officers watched the drill.
He said that precise shooting would enable the law enforcers to take result-oriented action against outlaws.
