T HE state of roads in Karachi, especially f rom Malir all the way up to Port Q asim, is in dire need of repairs. The same holds true for the return trip f rom Port Qasim to Malir.
Several months back roads had started being fixed in Malir. But about 45 days back, all work came to an abrupt halt.
Pollution as a result of the dust and debris leads to the spread of diseases and allergies. Besides, heavy traf fic jams can be seen all the way up to the Awami Markaz. The traf fic police simply seem to have disappeared. The only time they can be seen is when they are stopping rickshaw drivers, motorists, motorcyclists and pick-up drivers to collect you know what.
I hope that the authorities concerned will deal with these problems on an urgent basis.
