KARACHI: An antiterrorism court (ATC) on Thursday awarded collective imprisonment of 11 years to a gangster in a case pertaining to an encounter, attempt to murder and for possessing illicit weapon.

Accused Shahid Ilyas aka Darinda was found guilty of an encounter with police, attempt to commit murder and possessing unlicensed weapon within the remit of Kalri police station.

The judge of the antiterrorism court concerned found him guilty of committing theof fences alleged by the prosecution, observing that the charges were successfully proved during the trial.
