KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Friday remanded in Railway police custody three suspects held for allegedly subjecting a young woman to gang rape in the Bahaudin Zakaria Express.
The suspects, all employees of the privately-run train, have been held for sexually assaulting the 25-year-old victim on May 27.
The incident had sent shockwaves nationwide drawing criticism for the railways authorities for f ailing to ensure safety of female passengers.
On Friday, the ivestigatingofhcerproducedthesuspects before Judicial Magistrate Shahnawaz to seek their remand.
He informed the magistrate that the suspects` custody was required to interrogate them in connection with the offence.
