Operation against criminals in katcha areas reviewed

BAHAWALPUR: A high-level police officers` inter-provincial conference on Friday reviewed the progress of the ongoing operation against criminals in the katcha areas of the districts along the borders of Punjab and Sindh.

According to a press release issued by PRO Saqib Ajmal of the regional police officer, Bahawalpur RPO Sadiq Ali Dogar, Sukkur Division DIG Mr Tariq Abbas Qureshi, DPOs of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur (Punjab) and DPO of Ghotki (Sindh) attended the event.The conference, while expressing satisfaction over the pace of operation, reiterated to eliminate the criminals from the katcha areas. Police force equipped with modern weapons and firearms would continue operation till the criminals were wiped out.

The officers said the facilitators of criminals would be penalised with a case under 7-ATA. RPO Sadiq Ali Dogar announced that those who would cooperate with police would be provided complete security.

PARK: The Cantonment Board of Bahawalpur has named a family park at Malook Shah after the lateBilguees Edhi.

Earlier, the CBB had named a park in Model Town A after actor Uzma Gilani besides installing statues of a hockeylegend in Model Town and of the lateNawabofBahawalpur at a thoroughfare.

The park was inaugurated at a ceremony by GOC Maj Gen Aamir Fahim. Station Commander Brig Abdul Rshid, CBB`s chief Rana Ramiz Shafgat, Dr Muhammad Irfan Yousaf and Edhi Foundation zonal in-charge were present.

The Board described the park as a small gif t for the children. The park has a jogging track and facilities for children.
