KOHAT: The commissioner of Kohat division, Syed Motasim Billah Shah, has cancelled leaves of all sanitation workers of tehsil municipal administration and water supply and sanitation company.

The decision was made at a meeting held here for making arrangements for Eidul Azha. The commissioner directed officials to provide all possible facilities to tourists visiting tourist spots on the occasion of Eid.

He ordered officials to check transport fares, fitness certificates for parks and availability of at filling stations during Eid holidays. He also directed them to adopt an effective strategy for timely and safe disposal of sacrificial animal waste.

The commissioner asked government and semigovernment institutions, market unions and welfare organisations to distribute biodegradable bags among people to ensure cleanliness of environment.

The meeting was attended by the deputy commissioners, district police officers, and officers of relevant departments of all five districts of the division through video link on Tuesday. The commissioner directed them to make special measures including implementation of Section 144, security of worship places, improvement of cleanliness in bazaars and parks, ensuring availability of staff and supply of medicines in hospitals.
