ISLAMABAD / LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Monday reacted to a hard-hitting statement of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar after his appearance before the joint investigation team (JIT) and said the minister stooped to a new low.

`No amount of hysterical and gutter language is going to get Finance Minister Ishaq Dar off the hook,` Mr Khan said in a tweet, adding that: `Guilt is written all over his f ace.

The finance minister levelled several allegations against Mr Khan during a press conference outside the Federal Judicial Academy after recording his statement before it. He criticised the PTI chief for misusing donations collected for establishing the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer HospitalinLahore.

`Dar has stooped to new lows when he attacked the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital which pro-vides free cancer treatment to 75 per cent of its patients costing Rs5 billion per year,` Mr Khan said.

In another tweet, the PTI chairman said those PML-N leaders who had distributed sweets when the JIT was formed were now criticising it.

Mr Khan also posted some photographs of the ruling party leaders on social media showing them celebrate the Supreme Court`s decision regarding formation of the JIT and some latest ones with sad faces.

Later, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif`s political adviser Asif Kirmani said Mr Khan would run away if the `Lion`, theelection symbol of the PML-N, gave any call. `Imran Khan will run away barefooted if the `Lion` gives a call,` he said.

In Lahore, addressing a press conference, PTI information secretary Shafgat Mahmood lambasted Mr Dar for his tone and tenor against Mr Khan.

He reminded Mr Dar that the Sharif family was being investigated on the orders of the Supreme Court and not by by Mr Khan. He said Mr Dar`s affidavit regarding moneylaundering was the real truth as he himself was the `facilitator`.Mr Mahmood said the Sharif family was trying to make the JIT controversial, besides seeking to establish that there was the army`s hand behind their accountability.

He demanded that the SECP chairman be booked and arrested for making changes in the record. SECP`s Maheen Fatima had also given a statement that she was being pressurised to put different entries in the record, he added.

Referring to Hassan Nawaz`s statement as to why he was being called by the JIT, Mr Mahmood asked him to read the Supreme Court judgement and explain how he could become a billionaire student.

Regarding the Qatari prince`s refusal to appear before the JIT, Mr Mahmood had tweeted that the prince was afraid that his false story would not stand up to cross-examination. He asked the Qatari prince to just provide bank details.

PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry, who accompanied Mr Mahmood at the press conference, said Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq was trying to say that Nawaz Sharif himself was democracy and if he was questioned, democracy would be in danger.

He said the PML-N was planning for protest in case the JIT and Supreme Court gave a verdict against them.
