KARACHI: Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan has said that Operation Swift Retort is a testimony to the preparedness and professionalism of the forces.

He was speaking as a chief guest during the graduation ceremony of the 32nd air war course at the Air War College, Karachi.

Addressing the ceremony, the air chief said: `As senior military professionals, you must be aware of the contemporary geopolitical and strategic environment since it would not only have a deep influence on the overall security calculus but its sound understanding would also facilitate better preparedness and timely response to emerging threats.

He added that an important lesson which they derived from Operation Swift Retort was that despite singleservice application, support from sister services was essential to the success of the mission.

`In today`s warfare, both conventional and unconventional, no service can achieve success single-handedly. Therefore, joint work remains central to the modern concept of military operations,` he said.

The air chief also commended the f aculty for their tireless ef forts in dispensing the quality training and guidance to future military commanders.

The officers from tri-services of Pakistan along with the officers from 16 allied countries, including Bangladesh, Bahrain, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Oman, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Zimbabwe graduated in the ceremony.-PPI
