SKARDU, Sept 3: Hundreds of people took out a protest rally here on Tuesday against the possible US attack on Syria.

The rally was organised by Muttahida Wehdatul Muslimeen and activists of religious and social organisations took part in the protest. The protesters marched from Yadgar-iShuhada to the UN office at Parishan Chowk.

They were holding banners and placards and chanting slogans against the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Later, while addressing a public meeting in front of United Nation sub-office at Parishanchowk, Agha Mazahir Hussain, Raja Zakria Khan, and others condemned the `conspiracy` against Syria and said that in case of any attack on Syria and Iran, the Muslim world would crush America considering it an attack on Islam.

The speakers further said that their protest was not against the people of America, and Saudi Arabia but against their governments.

They added that it was an Islamic issue not a sectarian one. Later, the representatives of protesters handed over a resolution to deputy commissioner of Skardu.-Correspondent
