THE other day I was watching a crime story on TV in which a fake cleric named `Google Baba` was making fool of people and looting them.
Not only this, he also forced them to visit graveyards at midnights for his dirty purpose in the name of so-called spiritual treatment.
The conditions of graveyards in all cities of the country are pathetic.
Incidents of desecration of graves and bodies have been increasing day after day. A person who struggles for life and finally dies cannot rest even in his grave because of such unethicalactivities by a few.
Although the media has occasionally highlighted such events, our politicians as usual keep silent on the matter.
Also, our clerics, civil societies, human rights organisations and NGOs prefer to look the other way.
The government should register all graveyards and allot an `identification number` to each grave while the nearest police station should made responsible for the security of the graveyard.
All graveyards must have boundary walls, with only one entrance and exit gate. A website canbe launched in which photographs of all registered graves should be available to enable a person to see the grave of his relative.
All illegal encroachments in graveyards must be removed. The government should also pass legislation in assemblies for protecting graveyards.
Our country is one of the largest donation collectors in the world, so this problem can also be resolved in this way if some organisation shows its interest in this problem.
