PEC: engineers` woes

2013-11-04
IN Pakistan a large number of top students go to engineering universities. They burn midnight oil in order to get an engineering degree after which they are required to get registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). This is necessary for getting a job.

However, engineers face much problem once they go for registrationbecause the PEC registration certificate is sent through its Islamabad office but often the applicant do not get the registration card.

The PEC shows indifference, and the engineers are left at the mercy of clerks. They run from pillar to post for registration certificates and in this process they lose their jobs.I also applied for the registration eight months ago, but have not yet received any certificate. I request the chairman of the PEC to take notice of this and help stop the mass migration of Pakistani engineers to foreign countries because of these circumstances.
