Azam Hoti asked to quit Senate seat

MINGORA, Nov 3: Awami National Party, Swat chapter, on Sunday rejected the allegations levelled against party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan by Senator Azam Khan Hoti, and asked him to resign from the Senate.
Addressing a news conference at Swat Press Club here, ANP former MPA Sher Shah Khan said Azam Hoti had started a blame game without having any proof. `Mr Hoti is morally bound to resign from the senate seat,` he said.
Mr Khan said ANP leadership had been struggling for rights of Pakhtuns since long.
`Party workers have foiled such conspiracies in the past and would do so this time, too,` he said.
DENGUE CASES: Twenty-one more people on Sunday tested positive for dengue virus at the Saidu hospital, taking the number of patients to 8,985 in Swat district.
Dr Wasil Khan, focal person for dengue emergency unit, said that of the total 5,123 patients admitted to the hospital, 4,907 has been discharged after completion of treatment.
He said that 44 patients, including 26 men, 16 women and two children, were under treatment at the hospital, while 10 patients in critical condition, including six men and four women, had been admitted to high dependency unit of the hospital.
ENTRY TES11 University of Swat on Sunday held the entry test for admissions to MA and MSc programmes for the academic session, 2013-14. The entry test was held at its Odigram campus.According to a press release, 545 students, seeking admissions in different programmes took the entry test.
The test was conducted by National Testing Service. Results would be announced on Wednesday.
