Pindi hospitals on high alert

RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has canceled doctors and paramedical staff leaves in three government run hospitals in the garrison city to deal with any emergency on Ashura.

Besides, the three hospitals Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Holy Family Hospital and District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital have been put on a high alert.

Punjab health department issued directives to the hospitals to keep lifesaving drugs and blood bags in store, and allocate an additional 30 to 40 beds in each of the three hospitals to deal with emergency. Outpatient departments will remain closed on Tuesday.

Emergency department dengue wards will remain open to receive patients.
