LAHORE: A journalist was killed in a road accident in Hanjarwal in the early hours of Tuesday.

Police said Ali Raza, 30, of Chichawatni, a reporter with a private TV channel, was on his way home by a car when a trailer hit his vehicle, which turned over on Multan Road.

Raza suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.

The trailer driver fled the scene, leaving his vehicle behind.

Hanjarwal police shifted the body to the morgue, impounded the trailer and registered a case.

Later, the victim`s family took the body to their native town in Kasoowal, Chichawatni.

Raza`s father told the media the government should take notice of the incident and ensure provision of justice to them.
