Sarwar urges ECP to ensure fair polls

F A I S A L A B A D : Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Punjab organiser Chaudhry Sarwar has said the PML-N government has become a fascist dispensation as it`s killing the PTI workers with impunity.

Mr Sarwar told a press conference and workers of the party on Tuesday that the rulers were talking about targeted killings in Karachi, however, the situation was almost same in Punjab where the killers go scot-free and fake cases are being registered against the innocent workers of the PTL He said the PML-N was trying to suppress the voice of rivals. `This policy will yield negative results and the PTI will not sit idle,` he added.

Mr Sarwar said the PTIhad initiated an inquiry of its own to ascertain how it could not win the expected number of seats in Lahore. He said the government used the administration, police and goons to change the polling results. `The police and politicians are considering them above the law and Punjab has become a police state,` he claimed.

He urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of the irregularities in the hrst phase of the local elections and ensure free and fair process in the other two phases.

He said the PTI workers were being killed in Faisalabad, Nankana and Kasur and the rulers were responsible for such killings.

He felicitated the PTI candidates who won the union council elections.
