MULTAN: Scores of workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-iInsaf (PTI) on Tuesday protested outside the residence of senior party leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi against allegedly unjustified distribution of tickets and ignoring genuine workers.
The protesters said many people who were previously af filiated with other political parties and later joined the PTI managed to get party tickets for local government elections in the district at the cost of diehard workers, who remained loyal to the party since it was launched.
`The tickets have been allotted to people who are not sincere with the party and remained with other parties previously. These people with the help of influential party leaders manoeuvered to get PTI tickets for the polls because they hope they can get elected easily on it,` a protester alleged.
He further alleged ideological workers of the PTI had been denied tickets. The protesters said the party could face a defeat if tickets were not given to ideological workers.
Earlier, a similar protest was held outside the PTI office.
