`Two gangsters involved in 15 murders in Lyari held`

KA RACHI: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two suspected gangsters in Lyari allegedly involved in 15 murders based on ethnic grounds and other reasons, said a senior police of ficer.

The Kalri police arrested two suspects identified as Mohammed Shakeel and Mudassir, alias Major, said SSP City Faizullah Korejo.

Speaking at a press conference at his office, the SSP said that Shakeel belonged to the Zahid Ladla gang, who had killed three people -Shahzad, Mohammed Niaz and Mohammed Saleem in Agra Taj Colony near Noorani Masjid in 2013.

Some days later, he along with his accomplices killed another man, Mohammed Waseem in the same vicinity.

Another held suspect Mudassir associated with the Wasiullah Lakho gang had killed one man, Shani, in Kharadar in 2011. He was also involved in murder of Mansoor in Kaghzi Bazaar of Kharadar in 2012. In the same year, he also killed MQM worker Moin in the same vicinity.

The suspect along with his accomplices also allegedly killed four people -FarhanShaikh,MohammedSaleem,MohammedAbbasandMohammad Arshan near Mehran Bakery in Kharadar. During the initial probe, the suspect also `confessed` that he along with his accomplices kidnapped two Urdu-speaking people from the ICI Bridgeandkilled themin 2013, revealed the city SSP.

He was also involved in murder of Mohammed Rafiq on Shah Waliullah Road in 2013.

Besides, he was also involved in murder of another man in Memon Society. Furthermore, he along with other accomplices had attacked Mehran Bakery with hand grenade in the same year, in which several persons were hurt.
