Man kills father for not allowing freewill marriage

DADU: A man opened fire at his father for not allowing him to wed a woman of his choice killing him, as well as one of his nieces, in Khuhro village, some 80 kilometres from this city on Thursday.
The suspect’s sister and another niece were wounded in the firing.
According to officials at the Faridabad police station, Riaz Deepar, outraged over the stubborn attitude of his father, Ghulam Sarwar Deepar, 60, took out his gun and opened indiscriminate fire at him. His niece, Aqsa, 8, also sustained fatal bullet wounds, they said.
The suspect’s sister, Zahidan Deepar, and another niece, Rashni, 7, were wounded in the firing and taken to local civil hospital for treatment.
The police said that Riaz escaped from the house after committing the crime.
A hunt was on to locate and arrest him, they said.
An FIR was registered against the suspect on the complaint of his brother, Ali Gohar Deepar, who spoke to the media to narrate the whole episode. He said that his brother had been in love with a woman and constantly been trying to convince their father to agree on the proposal.
However, he said, their father on Thursday finally rejected the proposal which infuriated Riaz, who resorted to killing him.
