SUKKUR: Leader of the OppositionintheNationalAssembly Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah has said it has now become easier for people to identify `who is the player and who is the umpire` and Imran Khan`s unilateral decisions suggest `he is a king`s man and has done what kings do`.

The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief had also proven as the latest piece of evidence aired across the media showed that it was not his wont to leave the cosy environs of his residence to come to the rescue of his workers who were being beaten up and tortured on the roads, he said.

Mr Shah said while talking to media persons at his residence here on Thursday that let those be cursed who were doing politics at the sig-nals of umpires and dancing to their tunes. `Imran Khan should tell people where he had been during the dictatorial rule of Gen Pervez Musharraf?`, he said.

About Panama Leaks issue, he said that it was the test of the apex court which had sent back a PPP prime minister in the past. It was to be seen what action the present court would take against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he said.

He said the PPP had not lost hope in the parliament and brought together all the parties to develop a consensus over the terms of reference (ToRs) for inquiry into Panama Leaks issue but all of sudden Imran Khan himself severed from the opposition and announced lockdown of Islamabad.

He did not bother to take to any political party into confidence before taking the decision and did not even trust his ally Jamaat-i-Islami in this regard. It only proved `he is a king`s man and has done what the kings do`, he said.

He said that Mr Khan cared less when his workers were being beaten up and thrashed on the roads and did not bother to leave the cosy environs of his luxurious residence to rush to their rescue.

Mr Shah said that although there was no pressure on the court with regard to Panama Leaks issue, still it could prove to be a test for the judiciary.

The moment the Supreme Court took up the case Mr Khan announced postponement of the sit-in contrary to his claim before the court that the sit-in would continue till the prime minister stepped down but later he had to withdraw the decision in frustration, he said.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was gaining strengthby each day mostly because of wrong policies of Mr Khan.

He did not believe in the slogans of `go-go` nor would he raise such a slogan because it would benefit only the third power, he said.

Mr Shah said that he forgave Mr Khan unconditionally for badmouthing him and his leaders during speeches at public meetings.

He blamed the prime minister for strengthening terrorism by pursuing ill-advised policies and claimed that attempts were being made to reactivate the banned organisations.

Giving a piece of advice to the prime minister without naming him, Mr Shah said that important decisions must be taken on time or within the shortest time.

As for the decision on the appointment of new chief of army staff, Mr Shah said the most senior general should be made the COAS.
