JI wants Panama leaks probe completed in 25 days

PESHAWAR/TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Senator Sirajul Haq has urged the commission of Supreme Court of Pakistan to complete investigation into Panama leaks within 25 days.
Speaking at a party meeting at Al-Mark-i-Islami here on Thursday, he said that the commission should present its report to Supreme Court of Pakistan instead of presentingit to the federal government.
The JI chief said that his party had successfully run a campaign against corruption and as result the entire nation was demanding accountability of corrupt people.
`We want accountability of opposition as corruption is main issue of the country which has weakened basis of our homeland,` he said.
The newly elected emir of JI ofPeshawar, Sabir Hussain Awan, provincial chief Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and deputy chief Dr Mohammad Iqbal Khalil also spoke on the occasion.
Senator Siraj said that his party had always raised voice against corruption. He said that first sit-in against corruption was staged in 1996 by JI former chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed, who faced baton charge along with other workers.
He said that JI had been running a campaign against corruption for the last eight months in the county.
He said that they took out rallies, held conferences, organised train march and created awareness against corruption to save the country.
Senator Siraj said that government didn`t take any notice of the drive launched by JI that`s why his party moved Supreme Court in that regard and other political parties followed it.
Appreciating Supreme Court for agreeing to form a commission to probe Panama leaks, he said that it was basically JI`s demand, which was accepted. He added that his party wanted a strong Supreme Court to take bold decisions inlarger interests of the country.
The JI chief said that political parties were making mockery of democracy in the country. He said that none of the political parties dared to hold intra-party elections but used to nominate people without taking workers into confidence.
It was sheer violation of democratic norms, he added.
The JI chief said that politicians had become kings by using name of democracy while sacrifices were rendered only by poor people. He said that corrupt people used to keepgreencardsintheirpocketsto escape easily whenever they felt any fear in Pakistan and left the workers to face hardships.
The corrupt elements, he said, were in the habit to loot national wealth and shift it abroad for buying properties in different countries, mainly in the United States, France, Dubai, United Kingdom and Panama.
Meanwhile, addressing the monthly congregation of the party in Lower Dir on Thursday, JI central general secretary Liaquat Baloch said that they believed in democratic change and wanted to bring Islamic revolution in thecountrythroughvotes.
He also administered oath to Maulana Asadullah on his election as district chief of JI. A large number of party workers and representatives of local government were also present on the occasion.
Mr Baloch said that the country needed honest, pious and devoted leadership. He said that they wanted fast trial of all people involved in plundering national wealth.
He said that Indian forces were slaughtering innocent Kashmiris.
`India is blackmailing Pakistan and also using the soil of Afghanistan against us,` he said.
The JI leader said that the country needed a permanent foreign minister.
He said that Afghanistan and Pakistan were like brothers but India created mistrust between the two countries.
He said that international establishment had been conspiring against Muslims across the globe.
He said that billions of rupees were being spent on social media not because to serve Islam or its golden principles but to keep away people from Islam.countrythroughvotes.
