Young entrepreneurs showcase business ideas

PESHAWA R: Three Peshawar-based tech ideas converted into startup businesses under an intensive three-month incubation programme of Peshawar 2.0, a social enterprise.

After conclusion of the three-month programme called Revolt, young entrepreneurs from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presented their products and startup businesses as they graduated from Revolt.

In this connection, the Revolt`s demo function was held here on Thursday which was attended by entrepreneurs, students, teachers and artists from across Peshawar.

Fresh graduates from different educational institutes had joined Revolt three months ago.

All of them went through a programme which covered important areas, including ideas generation, innovation, the basics of building a startup and business model generation.

They also covered the legal and financial marketing side of building a startup.

According to a press release issued here, cofounder of Peshawar 2.0 Salman Ahmad said, `Peshawar 2.0 is on a mission to develop a culture of innovation and a startup ecosystem in the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

`We are also providing a creative co-working facility with the name of Basecamp, Peshawar,` he added.

First startup of the Revolt`s demo day was `My Social Studio`, co-founded by Asad Iqbal and Waqas.

`My Social Studio is a web-based App that helps freelancers, entrepreneurs, individuals and owners of small and medium size businesses to design and schedule engaging posts for social media with a few clicks,` Mr Iqbal said.

Adel Shabir, a Business Administration student, presented his startup Snapeey, a web platform that allowed people to design a shirt the way they would like.

Mohammad Jahangir and Rashid Inam, the final graduating entrepreneurs, presented `Bera`, their e-commerce platform of local handmade shoes.

`Bera is the first exclusive brand of Peshawari chappal, he said.

In the end, Mr Ahmad opened the applications for the second cycle of Revolt`s incubation programmes.
