REFERENCE theletter,`EOBI biometric verification` (Oct 25). It is clarified that biometric verification through Nadra is a method for proof of life of the pensioner and it is mandatory for the institution to revalidate every pensioner periodically.
The letter`s mention of the fact that the message to visit the Telenor or Easy Paisa outlet was sent by the EOBI is not correct as pension disbursement has been contracted out to Bank Al-Falah (BAFL) which sent a message to every pensioner for biometric verification that is required after every six months. However, cognizance of the complaint has been taken and directions to BAFL to ensure availability of machines at every Easy Paisa outlet have been issued. It is pertinent to mention that biometric verifications are also carried out at all BAFL branches.
The EOBI is committed to facilitate its pensioners in every way possible and disbursal of pensions through ATMs is one such step. However, all bottlenecks in this regard are being addressed. Pensioners are requested to point out any difficulty faced on the EOBI website/toll free number 08000-2634.
