Asif Zardari condemns attack on army convoy

NAWABSHAH: Pakis-tan Peoples Party co-chairman and former president of the country Asif Ali Zardari on Friday condemned cowardly attack by terrorists on Pakistan Army convoy in Gwadar district, Balochi-stan, in which 14 soldiers embraced martyrdom.
In a press release issued by PPP`s media cell, Mr Zardari paid tribute to the martyrs and said the soldiers` supreme sacrifice would not go waste and terrorism would be eliminated with full strength. PPP had always struggled against extremism and hatred, he said.
Mr Zardari said earlier at a meeting with the party`s elected representatives of local government at Zardari House that his party`s service had built trust among people.
He said that peoples` service was his party`s motto and advised the LG representatives to do their best to resolve genuine issues of citizens and earn trust of people. It was PPP`s selfless service that people of Sindh always repose their confidence in the party, he said.
The LG representatives briefed the PPP co-chairman about their performance.
Zardari was accompanied by former minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, former MNA Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, ex-MPAs Ali Hasan Zardari, Chaudhry Tariq Masood Arain and Ghulam Qadir Chandio, Nawabshah Mayor Qazi Rasheed Bhatti, H.M. Khoja Syed Atif Hussain Zaidi, Hayat Kakepoto, Khan Bahadur Bhatti, Rashid Chandio and Ashig Zardari.
Earlier, Zardari visited his ancestral graveyard in Ballu Ja Quba, laid wreath on the graves of his parents and offered fateha. Zardari also met former MPA from Punjab Mumtaz Ali Chang and discussed issues of mutual interest with him.
